On behalf of the 23rd PIC Organising Committee, I take great pleasure to inform you that Kuala Lumpur is hosting the 23rd Pacific Insurance Conference (23rd PIC). It is scheduled to be held on 28th - 31st October 2007 at Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Life insurance has touched so many individuals' lives that today it is not only an integral part of a life-long financial plan, but also a major component of a country's economic stability . From its humble beginning, when it was used purely as a risk management measure, life insurance today has evolved into a dynamic tool for wealth management.

This evolution has not been without ordeal. In fact, it is the relentless effort and creativity in overcoming various challenges that has shaped the forms and faces of life insurance today. It is timely to take stock and to move forward. Thus, we have chosen the theme of the Conference, "New Solutions for Traditional Challenges: Winning Ideas from Industry Leaders" to illustrate effective strategies that have and can continue to raise life insurance to new heights.

This Conference aims to create an avenue for colleagues and friends to share their experience in dealing with the various challenges that the industry has faced over time. The Organising Committee believes that the presentations and discussions at this Conference will shed some light on how creative solutions can turn traditional challenges into opportunities and success. It is our hope that this Conference will also serve as a platform for participants to make new acquaintances, as well as rekindle old ties with colleagues and friends alike from all over the world.

Last but not least, I wish that apart from the strong technical agenda of this Conference, you will also have an enjoyable stay in Kuala Lumpur. We are proud to show you the rich diversity of our land and sea - from gleaming cities to traditional villages and from lush rainforests to pristine coastlines. I sincerely invite you to enjoy the hospitality of Malaysia's culturally diverse and harmonious people and to discover the beautiful nature of our country.
