8 January 2009, Kuala Lumpur - Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful (HLTM Takaful) is pleased to announce the appointment of Encik Abdul Latiff Bin Haji Abu Bakar as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 3 December 2008. Abdul Latiff will be in charge of charting the company's strategic direction.

Abdul Latiff brings with him 19 years of professional insurance experience culled from his stints at various organizations like Etiqa, Malaysian Assurance Alliance Bhd and Takaful Nasional Sdn Bhd. At Etiqa, Abdul Latiff was the Executive Vice President Agency where he was responsible for overseeing the Takaful Family and General, Conventional Life & General and looking into franchise opportunities. His other notable professional credentials include establishing an insurance company in Indonesia as well as having extensive experience in investment linked products and employee benefits.

Abdul Latiff holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from University of Portland, Oregon, USA.
