Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Berhad (HLTMT), is a strategic collaboration between Hong Leong Financial Group Malaysia, a reputable integrated financial services group and Tokio Marine Nichido Fire, one of the world's largest insurance companies.

The strategic partnership sees Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co.,Ltd and Hong Leong Assurance Berhad coming together with equity participation of 55%, 35% and 10% respectively. This new joint venture company was incorporated on 19 th June 2006 with a paid up capital of RM100 million.

The collaboration offers HLTMT an opportunity to leverage on the scale, customer base, embedded branch network as well as extensive distribution channels of Hong Leong Bank. HLTMT also will leverage on Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd's vast and global technical and product development expertise towards the creation of innovative and competitive takaful offerings. Together with Hong Leong Assurance, with its established insurance expertise and presence in the market, HLTMT is well positioned to deliver differentiated propositions to its customers.

HLTMT is a key component of Hong Leong Islamic Financial Services Group, an integrated platform offering Islamic banking, Islamic Investment Banking and Islamic Wealth Management and Takaful.

With strong Shariah compliance and operating process as a core tenet, HLTMT will strive to meet the high standards and expectations set by its stakeholders and contribute towards the development of Malaysia as a global takaful centre.
