Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Berhad (HLTMT), is a strategic collaboration between Hong Leong Financial Group Malaysia, a reputable integrated financial services group and Tokio Marine Nichido Fire, one of the world's largest insurance companies.

The strategic partnership sees Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd and Hong Leong Assurance Berhad coming together with equity participation of 55%, 35% and 10% respectively. This new joint venture company was incorporated on 19 th June 2006 with a paid up capital of RM100 million.

The collaboration offers HLTM Takaful an opportunity to leverage on the insurance expertise, scale, customer base, distribution channels and branch network of the Hong Leong Group, while tapping into Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd's vast and global technical and product development expertise for the creation of innovative and competitive takaful offerings.

Following a rationalisation to consolidate equity holdings in the Insurance and Takaful companies within the group in 2009, the equity interest of 55% held by Hong Leong Bank and 10% held by Hong Leong Assurance has been transferred to HLA Holdings Sdn. Bhd. The consolidation allows the creation of synergies for a more conducive sharing of resources and shared services within the Hong Leong Group.
